Booking without the back-and-forth
Consultants, clinics, coaches, agencies and repair shops lose bookings to email ping-pong: "Are you free Thursday?" — "Only in the morning" — "How about next week?". AI SmartTalk settles it in the chat. The agent reads your SmartCalendar availability, proposes the closest slots, asks whether the meeting is online, by phone or in person when you offer more than one option, and books it.
SmartCalendar is built into AI SmartTalk: your schedules, slots and appointments live there, so you do not need to connect Google Calendar or Outlook to start. The WordPress plugin adds two more ways in: a [smartcalendar] shortcode and a SmartCalendar block for the editor, plus an Elementor widget, to place a booking calendar directly on a page. Every booking creates or updates a contact in the CRM, so you know who is coming before the meeting.
What the agent does
Finds the nearest free slots
Ask for "next Tuesday afternoon" or "as soon as possible": the agent turns the request into dates, lists the closest available slots and only offers times that are really free.
Online, phone or in person
Each slot carries the meeting types you allow. If there is only one, the agent uses it without asking; if there are several, it lets the visitor choose. Online meetings can get a Google Meet link when Google Meet is connected.
Confirmation for both sides
Once booked, the customer receives a confirmation email, the calendar's administrators get one too, and the appointment appears in your dashboard with the note the agent wrote about its purpose.
A booking page you can embed
Prefer a classic calendar? Insert the [smartcalendar] shortcode, the SmartCalendar block or the Elementor widget on any page; visitors pick a slot and give their name and email.
No double bookings per client
A client can hold one upcoming appointment per calendar at a time; the agent tells them about the existing one instead of booking a second.
Set it up
- 1
Create your calendar
In AI SmartTalk, open SmartCalendar, create a calendar and set your weekly schedule, slot length and the meeting types you accept: online, phone or in person.
- 2
Install the WordPress plugin
Upload the plugin ZIP from your dashboard in Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, activate it, click Connect and enable the chat widget.
- 3
Add a booking page if you want one
Place the [smartcalendar] shortcode, the SmartCalendar block or the Elementor widget on your contact or booking page for visitors who prefer to click a slot.
- 4
Test a booking
Ask the agent for an appointment in the preview, confirm with a test email, and check that both confirmation emails arrive.
Honest limits
What it does not do
To book in the chat, the visitor must be identified — signed in to WordPress with auto-login, or confirming their email with a one-time code. The agent books on your first calendar; you can create up to three. It cannot cancel or move an appointment in the conversation, does not take deposits or payments, and does not write bookings into Google Calendar or Outlook — the Google connection only adds a Meet link to online meetings.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need Google Calendar?
No. SmartCalendar holds your availability and appointments itself. Connecting Google Meet is optional and only adds a video link to online appointments.
Can logged-in members book without confirming their email?
Yes. With auto-login on, a member signed in to WordPress is already identified in the chat, so the agent can book straight away.
Can I show a calendar on a page instead of the chat?
Yes: use the [smartcalendar] shortcode, the SmartCalendar block in the editor or the Elementor widget. Both paths book into the same calendar.
Which plan includes SmartCalendar?
SmartCalendar is part of AI SmartTalk; plans start at €9.90 per month and you can test booking during the 30-day free trial.
