Beyond the accordion page
A classic FAQ page only helps visitors who find it and whose question is phrased the way you wrote it. AI SmartTalk keeps your FAQ as a source of truth and lets visitors ask anything: "can I pay in three instalments?" finds the answer you wrote under "Payment options", in French, English or any language the visitor uses.
On WordPress, the agent learns your pages and posts through the plugin, and you add question-and-answer entries to its knowledge base by hand, from a spreadsheet, or by extracting them from an existing document. For the page itself, the plugin's [smartfaq] shortcode renders an accordion FAQ with FAQPage structured data, which search engines can read. Answers that visitors flag as unhelpful are grouped in a missed-questions list, so you can write the missing answer once and the agent uses it from then on.
What the agent does
Understands rephrased questions
Questions are matched on meaning, not keywords, so the visitor does not need to guess your wording; the agent answers in their language even if your FAQ is written in one.
FAQ entries from your documents
Upload a terms-of-sale PDF or pick a document already in the knowledge base, and FAQ extraction proposes question-and-answer pairs you review before importing.
Missed questions come back to you
When a visitor marks an answer as unhelpful, the question appears in the missed-questions list with the conversation around it and the documents used, so you can see why and write a better answer.
An SEO-ready FAQ block
The [smartfaq] shortcode turns [Q]…[/Q][A]…[/A] pairs into an accessible accordion and adds FAQPage schema markup by default.
Always in step with your site
Saving a published post or page re-sends it to the agent, so an updated policy is used in the next conversation without a manual re-import.
Set it up
- 1
Install and connect the plugin
Upload the plugin ZIP from your AI SmartTalk dashboard, activate it and click Connect; then run a first sync of your posts and pages.
- 2
Add your FAQ entries
In the knowledge base, add questions and answers one by one, import them, or extract them from a document you already have.
- 3
Publish the FAQ page
Optionally, write your public FAQ with the [smartfaq] shortcode so the page shows an accordion and carries structured data.
- 4
Review missed questions weekly
Keep answer feedback on in the widget and check the missed-questions list: each answer you write there improves every later conversation.
Honest limits
What it does not do
The agent answers from the content you give it; when nothing covers a question, it says so instead of inventing an answer, and that gap is yours to fill. Missed questions rely on visitors using the feedback buttons. FAQ entries written in AI SmartTalk are not published on your site automatically — the [smartfaq] shortcode uses the pairs you write in the page.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to rewrite my existing FAQ?
No. If your FAQ is a WordPress page, the plugin syncs it with your other content; you can also convert it into separate FAQ entries for sharper answers.
Does the [smartfaq] shortcode help SEO?
It outputs FAQPage structured data by default, which lets search engines understand the questions and answers on the page. Whether they show rich results is their decision.
What happens when the agent does not know?
It tells the visitor it has no answer and, if handoff is on, offers your team. You can then add the answer so the agent knows it next time.
How much does it cost?
The plugin and its shortcodes are free; the AI agent comes with an AI SmartTalk plan from €9.90 per month, with a 30-day free trial.
