Beyond /help and command menus
Classic Telegram FAQ bots are built from commands and keyword rules: /fees, /shipping, /support. Users have to know the command, and anything outside the menu gets no answer. AI SmartTalk replaces the menu with understanding. Users ask "how long does a withdrawal take?" or send a voice message, and the agent finds the answer in your FAQ entries, documentation and website by meaning, then replies in the user's language.
This suits communities and products with a constant flow of newcomers asking the same things — fees, eligibility, opening hours, how to get started. You maintain one FAQ in AI SmartTalk, add entries one by one, from a spreadsheet or by extracting them from your documentation, and the bot answers with the current version. When nothing in the knowledge base covers a question, the agent says so rather than making something up, and can bring in your team.
What the agent does
No commands needed
Users write in plain language; questions are matched to your FAQ by meaning, typos and rephrasing included.
Voice questions answered
Voice messages are transcribed and answered like typed questions.
Multilingual by default
The bot replies in the language of each message, so an international community gets answers from one FAQ.
FAQ from your documentation
Add entries by hand, upload a spreadsheet with columns headed "question" and "answer", or extract question-and-answer pairs from a PDF or a document already in the knowledge base.
Knows when to stop
If the knowledge base has no answer, the agent does not invent one; with handoff on, it passes the user to your team.
Set it up
- 1
Gather your recurring questions
Collect the questions that come back in your community and support chats, with the answer you want the bot to give.
- 2
Fill the knowledge base
Add them as FAQ entries, upload a spreadsheet or extract them from your docs, and add your website and documentation for context.
- 3
Create and connect the bot
Send /newbot to @BotFather, copy the token and paste it in Integrations → Telegram in AI SmartTalk.
- 4
Pin the bot link
Pin the t.me link of the bot in your channel or group description so newcomers ask the bot first, then review conversations in the inbox.
Honest limits
What it does not do
The bot answers in private chats; it does not watch a group and answer questions posted there. Replies are plain text up to 4,096 characters, without command menus or inline buttons. Stickers, videos and non-image files get no reply, and typed messages over 500 characters are not answered. The website chat's answer feedback buttons do not exist on Telegram, so you find gaps by reading conversations in the inbox.
Frequently asked questions
Do I still need bot commands?
No. Users can simply write their question. You can keep a command list in BotFather for discoverability, but the agent answers plain messages.
Can the bot answer questions in my Telegram group?
The integration is designed for private chats with the bot. Put the bot's link in your group so members can ask it directly.
How do I update an answer?
Edit the FAQ entry in AI SmartTalk; the next answer uses it on Telegram and on every other channel connected to the agent.
How much does it cost?
Telegram bots are free; AI SmartTalk plans start at €9.90 per month with AI included within the plan's monthly allowance of AI words, and there is a 30-day free trial.
